Mary Fairfax Greig Somerville

Mary Fairfax Greig Somerville (1780-1872) was born 26 Dec. 1780 in Burntisland, Fife, Scotland. She was the daughter of William George Fairfax and Margaret Charters. She married Samuel Greig on 28 Jun. 1804 in Edinburgh, Edinburghshire, Scotland, and they had two children; widowed before 4 Oct. 1807. She married William Somerville on 18 May 1812 in Edinburgh, and they had four children. She died 29 Nov. 1872 in Naples, Campania, Italy. She was one of the eminent women for whom Wilford Woodruff initiated proxy temple ordinance work in Aug. 1877.
