Louis Agassiz

1807 - 1873
Louis Agassiz (1807-1873) was born 28 May 1807 in Môtiers, Neuchâtel, Switzerland. He was the son of Louis Agassiz and Rose Meyer. He married Cecile Braun in Oct. 1833; widowed about 1848. He married Elizabeth Cary on 26 Apr. 1850 in Boston, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts. He died 12 Dec. 1873 in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts. He was one of the eminent men for whom Wilford Woodruff initiated proxy temple ordinance work in Aug. 1877.
