Jane Austen (1755-1817) was born 17 Dec. 1755 in Steventon, Hampshire, England. She was the daughter of George Austen and Cassandra Leigh. She died 18 Jul. 1817 in Winchester, Hampshire, England. She was one of the eminent women for whom Wilford Woodruff initiated temple ordinance work in Aug. 1877.
