Elizabeth Gurney Fry (1780-1845) was born 17 May 1780 in Norwich, Norfolk, England. She was the daughter of John Gurney and Catherine Bell. She married Joseph Fry on 19 Aug. 1800 in Norwich, and they had eleven children. She died 12 Oct. 1845 in Ramsgate, Kent, England. She was one of the eminent women for whom Wilford Woodruff initiated proxy temple ordinance work in Aug. 1877.
