Catherine Maria Sedgwick (1789-1867) was born 28 Dec. 1789 in Stockbridge, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Theodore Sedgwick and Pamela Dwight. She died 31 Jul. 1867 in Roxbury, Suffolk Co., Massachusetts. She was one of the eminent women for whom Wilford Woodruff initiated proxy temple ordinance work in Aug. 1877.
