James M. Ashley
James M. Ashley (1824-1896) was born 24 Nov. 1824 in Pennsylvania. He was the son of John Clinton Ashley and Mary Ann Kirkpatrick. He married Emma J. Smith on 17 Nov. 1851 in Hamilton Co., Ohio. He was mentioned by Wilford Woodruff in his journal on 1 Jan. 1867 in the context of a congressional bill. He died 16 Sep. 1896 in Alma, Gratiot Co., Michigan.
