Chauncey Walker West
Chauncey Walker West (1827-1870) was born 6 Feb. 1827 in Erie Co., Pennsylvania. He was the son of Alva West and Sally Benedict. He married Mary Hoagland about 1846; participated in plural marriage. He was baptized about 1843 in Ossian, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania. He hosted and met with Wilford Woodruff several times in the 1860s. He died 9 Jan. 1870 in San Francisco, San Francisco Co., California, and Wilford Woodruff attended his funeral.
