Day in the Life

Transcript

On December 5, 1847, Brigham Young was called as the second prophet of the Church. Wilford Woodruff wrote in his journal:

“Brother Brigham Young expressed his feelings concerning the organizing of the Church & appointing a first presidency. He wished all of the quorum present to express their feelings upon this subject. Many interesting remarks were made by the various individuals who spoke & we were followed by President Young. After which Orson Hyde moved that Brigham Young be the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints & that he nominate his two counselors & they form the first Presidency. President Young nominated Heber C Kimball as his first counselor and Willard Richard as his second counselor.”

I'm very grateful that we have a prophet today who is called of God, who carries the messages and the important matters that our Savior and our Father in Heaven would have us know, would have us pay attention to, to keep us safe, to help us be prepared for what's coming.
