Robert Burns (1759-1796) was born 28 Jan. 1759 in Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland, United Kingdom. He was the son of William Burns and Agnes Brown. He married Jean Armour on 5 Aug. 1788 in Mauchline, Ayrshire, Scotland. He died 21 Jul. 1796 in Mill Hole Brae, Dumfries, Dumfriesshire, Scotland. He was one of the eminent men for whom Wilford Woodruff initiated proxy temple ordinance work in Aug. 1877.
