Melana (Melannar) Ames (Eames) Dyer (1816-1901) was born 22 Jul. 1816 in Vinalhaven, Hancock Co., Maine. She was the daughter of Justus Ames and Betsy Hudson. She married Ebenezer Dyer on 21 Oct. 1838 in Vinalhaven, and they had three children. She was baptized by Wilford Woodruff on 10 Sep. 1837 on the North Fox Island, Hancock Co., Maine. She died 8 Jul. 1901 in North Haven, Knox Co., Maine.
