Lewis Morris

Lewis Morris (1726-1798) was born 8 Apr. 1726 in The Bronx, Bronx Co., New York, British Colonial America. He was the son of Lewis Morris and Catherine Staats. He married Mary Walton on 24 Sep. 1749 in New York City, New York Co., New York, British Colonial America. He died 22 Jan. 1798 in Morrisania. He was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and one of the eminent men for whom Wilford Woodruff initiated proxy temple ordinance work in Aug. 1877.
