John Matthias Burk

John Matthias Burk (1793-1853) was born 4 Feb. 1793 in Fairfield, Herkimer Co., New York. He was the son of Charles Burke and Esther Robinson Bohannon. He married Abigail Fellows on 13 Mar. 1821 in Fairfield; widowed. He married Keziah Keturah Van Benthusen Rollins Bunnell on 22 Jan. 1835 in Liberty, Clay Co., Missouri. He was baptized 9 Oct. 1830 in Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio. He provided land and shelter for the men of Zion's Camp in 1834, which Wilford Woodruff was part of. He died 8 Jun. 1853 in Ogden, Weber Co., Utah Territory.
