John G. Luce

1817-1881
John G. Luce (1817-1881) was born 20 Sep. 1817 in Vinalhaven, Hancock Co., Maine. He was the son of Malatiah Luce and Ruth Grant. He married Harriet Spaulding on 19 Jan. 1837 in Lincolnville, Waldo Co., Maine. He hosted Wilford Woodruff in Jun. 1849 and corresponded with him frequently. He died 28 Mar. 1881 and was buried in Hamilton, Hancock Co., Illinois.
