Jacob Hamblin
Jacob Hamblin (1819-1886) was born 2 Apr. 1819 in Salem, Ashtabula Co., Ohio. He was the son of Isaiah Hamblin and Daphne Haynes. He married Lucinda Taylor on 3 Oct. 1839 in Walworth Co., Wisconsin Territory; divorced. He married Rachel Judd on 30 Sep. 1849 in Indian Creek, Pottawattamie Co., Iowa; participated in plural marriage. He was baptized 2 Mar. 1842. He had extensive contact with Wilford Woodruff between 1854 and 1886, including being called on missions, reporting on those missions, and consulting on Native American matters. He died 30 Aug. 1886 in Pleasanton, Socorro Co., New Mexico Territory.
