George Washington Hill

George Washington Hill (1822-1891) was born 5 Mar. 1822 in Ames, Athens Co., Ohio. He was the son of Richard Hill and Sarah Strait. He married Cynthia Stewart on 18 Sep. 1845 in Missouri. He was baptized in Jun. 1847 in Winter Quarters (later Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska). He was ordained a Patriarch under the direction of Wilford Woodruff and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in 1873, and he met with Wilford Woodruff in 1889. He died 24 Feb. 1891 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah Territory, and Wilford Woodruff spoke at his funeral.
