Day in the Life

Transcript

On this day almost 200 years ago, Wilford Woodruff received word that he had been called to serve in the Second Quorum of the Seventy at age 29.

He recorded the experience in his journal, explaining, “I had an interview with Elder Abraham O Smoot. It was a happy meeting. Brother Smoot related the news to me from Brother Patten (one of the Twelve Apostles) which was glorious in the first degree. He gave me an account of the endowment at Kirtland, Ohio. The heavens were opened unto them. Angels & Jesus Christ were seen sitting at the right hand of the Father.

He also informed me that … the second seventy was chosen & that I was one of the numbers. O God prepare me for the Battle while combating error with everlasting truth. The above are great blessings indeed.”

Is there a time when you felt the Lord helping you in a calling or assignment?

For me, the time I felt the Lord helping me the most was during my time as a full time missionary in the United Kingdom. Throughout my two years of service, I felt the Lord helping me know what to say, who to speak to, and where to go.

What about you?
