for me is the Best room I have been in in Arizona 18 x 16
well carpeted chimney & Mantle peace 2 good windows,
and curtains and cealing and all vary comfortable
I arose this morning with a severe cold on my lungs I put
a flannel lined with Brown Paper covered with lard and
nutmeg on my chest I learned by the Deseret News
that Elder Albert P Rockwood was Dead He was one
of the first seven Presidents of the seventies. He died at
his residence in the sugar House ward at 4.35 Nov 29 1879
was born June 25 ^5^ 1805 being 74 years of age
He was one of the Pioneers and had been a Member
of the UtahLegislator since its first organization and
a Member of the D A & M Society for 20 years. so we
are all passing away it will come my turn soon
The wind is Blowing vary hard to day, the air filled with
sand I wrote 4 letters to day to J JaquesPhebe W W, L J Nuttall & G Teasdale all forwarded to Jaques

9 I arose quite unwell to day. I spent most of the day reading
Hugh Blairs Lectures on Rhetoric & Bells Letters
which were quite interesting upon many Points. I had
company in the Evening I went to bed about 9 oclok feeling
vary bad in my lungs I was sick all night. my throat
and Lungs felt raw I had hard work to swallow I
could not raise but little and what I did was bloody

Dec 10. I arose this morning quite feeble I felt that my lungs
were in a Dangerous state, I was much distressed all night
I soon got some pulvarized charcoal and drank in water
and put some dry in my throat and it relieved me some
