Elder W. Woodruff, said the secret of the present
antagonism about Polygamy, was simply, because
it was a command of God, and Lucifer was opposed
to it. He did not believe in abandoning one principle
of the Gospel to please this Nation or any other.
We can afford to risk the issue and consequences
of the present persecution—the controversary
is between God and the Nation.
